The quarantine diet

It has been 15 days now that we are stuck at home walking from the bed to the couch and sometimes we stop at our desk to work. The fact that we are less active put so much pressure on us to stay active and social media are reinforcing it. How many advertisements or post have you seen recently telling you not to get fat during this period or how to glow up during this phase. The thing is that you have to cook your lunch which you might not be used to and might not have time to between to Zoom's conference plus the fact that you don't exercise as much as you did because you don't have to walk to the subway station anymore will probably result in gaining a couple of kilos. However, that's normal and you shouldn't feel ashamed of it or pressured by society to do sport if you don't want to. The same applies to makeup or what you're wearing. I have seen a lot of posts telling people that they should wear this or that but the truth is if you want to stay in your pyjamas all day long do it and embrace it, also it's way more comfortable than a jean right! I saw a video on a major channel yesterday telling women that they should wear makeup and "nice" clothes if they want to avoid conflict with their partner because they will find them attractive. The reality behind all that pressure is the image society, expect women to reflect. The culture wants us to look pretty, to wear nice clothes, to be thin. Unfortunately, not every woman wants to be like that and that's their choice. Nobody, even a woman should tell a woman how to look. Never.

Thank you for making me feel less alone about my quarantine diet ! Very funny and true article, I saw the video about women having to wear makeup in order to avoid conflict and I find it so revolting and can't comprehend how they thought it was a good idea to promote this horrible message !
