The body positive movement

Thanks to social media, so many complexes are creat every day. You can see daily photoshopped models posing in front of their gorgeous pool in central L.A. Their body looks unrealistic and so many people envy them, especially teenagers. You can see on any platforms things like "How to get thinner", "How to lose weight in 10 days".

But in reality, the average size of women in the world is 10 to 12 (US size) not 2 or 4.

Luckily some influencers decided to show the truth behind those unreal pictures. They created what is called the "body positive movement". Through it, they are denouncing all the stereotype inflicted on women for ages and are showing what real beauty looks like.

Thanks to there movement, they made women realised what real bodies sound like, they made women realised that beauty is universal. A lot of women decided to show their scares instead of hiding them, their stretch marks or their acne. Even celebrities decided to show their "real self" under all the makeup.

A considerable amount of Instagram accounts was created following this body positive movement (we will link you some of our favourites at the end of the post ).

Those women even had an impact on the retail environment, now the brands have to mention whether or not their pictures are retouched and more and more brands decided to stop photoshopping their models. Like the famous retail website Asos who decided to portrait more natural models who have stretch marks or acne or hair on their legs. The brands are also more inclusive on the size of their models.

As you can see, social media isn't inevitably bad, it's just the way you use it or who you are following.

If you want my advice, unsubscribe any account that makes you feel bad about yourself.

Here's my list of favourite accounts to follow, I promise they are gonna make you feel beautiful.

@femalecollective (a motivational quote everyday)

@myselflovesupply (everything is in the tittle)
