How beauty and social media became a communication tool

During the 21st century, beauty became an obsession for a lot of people. With the emergence of beauty standards, social media became a sharing place between people who wants to share their beauty tips but continued to be the place where beauty standards are exposed.


Social media and beauty became an obsession for people. Influencers share their products, their beauty routine and their favourite beauty brands. It became an opportunity for beauty brands as far as influencer presents their products as effective. It starts from little brands to very famous brands. Influencers became a marketing tool in the beauty industry and then started to be paid for doing an ad with products.


We can also see that a lot of famous people like singers or actors, for example, started doing an ad for beauty brands by using their popularity. We can note that beauty brands had invested in social media because it is a free communication tool and a lot of people used them. It is an evolution in the beauty industry because some person embodied beauty brands and can be

“used” as publicity.
